Chapter 15 You're a little person

"Don't be like that," Nancy looked at him nervously, seeing his resistance. "Don't you wish you could get better soon? I'll help you!"

Nancy's patient comfort didn't have much effect. Instead, it made Eric even more furious. "Sam, are you dead? Didn't you see that I was beaten by the doctor?" !"

Sam understood. "OK, I'll deal with it right now."

Nancy was stunned to see Sam turn out, but she quickly calmed down and held Eric down as he was about to get out of bed. "You can't move now. Even if you force yourself down, it will only get your wound contaminated with the dust on the ground and get infected."

"What's it to you? !" Eric was furious.

"I'm your attending physician. Do you say it's none of my business!" Nancy shouted back loudly.

Seeing a thin layer of tears quickly cover her eyes, Eric's face turned ashen and he remained silent. Nancy bit her lip and bandaged him by herself.

Her mood was in a mess. On one side was Jason, who was seeking an explanation from her, and on the other was a very uncooperative patient.

And she slapped him...

Nancy had no idea what Sam was dealing with, but it was going to have a bad effect on her.

Sure enough, the dean soon sent a message asking her to go over.

After a scathing scolding, Nancy was suspended, saying that it would be decided whether to punish her or dismiss her after a thorough investigation.

Having walked out of the director's office in a daze, Nancy drifted back to 302 in a low voice. "For a while, the hospital will send another doctor to take care of you, your injuries are serious and need proper treatment, you... Stop being in a bad mood."

Seeing her red eyes, Eric guessed her end, but he didn't care. "If you hurt the hand holding the scalpel, how could you say it so easily? !"

"No," Nancy was stunned for a long time and finally shook her head honestly. "But I will obediently accept the treatment because I know that only by cooperating well with the doctor will I have a chance of getting better, otherwise I would be giving up on myself."

Nancy stared into Eric's eyes. "I don't know why I had to come back here, but I still want to say to you, don't give up, never give up on yourself. You still have a chance to get better, if you want to."

Eric remained silent, his eyes cold and unfathomable.

"I'm leaving first." Nancy mechanically turned around, and tears streamed down the moment she gently closed her eyes.

Well, not bad, at least there was time to sort out her own mess first.

Seeing Nancy's thin figure disappear outside the door, Eric suddenly felt sorry for her, but then he thought, isn't he pitiful too? ! With a self-mocking curved corner of his mouth, he looked at the newly taken pill on the table and threw it into the trash can again.

As she walked out of the hospital, Nancy suddenly didn't know where she was going.

Home? !

The thought of May's face made her inexplicably disgusted and she didn't want to see her.

Who would you go out to vent with? !

She has no friends, and for five years of entanglement with Jason, she has only him in her world.

Thinking of Jason, Nancy chose to go home. She had to talk to May.

As soon as the door was pushed open, May's mushy voice reached her ears, "Oh, Carl, why are you back now? !"

They stared at each other for a moment, and May quickly frowned in disgust, and Nancy frowned too.

May, who was standing in front of the fridge, took out an apple, washed it and sat down on the sofa, watching TV and munching on it without asking Nancy if she wanted it.

Silent lip biting, Nancy walked over, "Where did you get the money for your new stud earrings? !"

Seeing the purse in her hand, May jumped up as if struck by electricity. "What are you doing? You want to say I took money from your bag, right? !"

"I haven't said that yet. Why are you in a hurry?" Nancy glared straight at her. "It's just a few thousand dollars. Take it."

"What a few thousand? It's only a little over two thousand in total. Do you want to accuse me of taking you a few thousand? ! Seven thousand? ! Or eight or nine thousand? !" May angrily took a bite of the apple and glared at Nancy.

With a slight smile, Nancy saw that she remained silent.

May was stunned at first, then reacted, narrowed her eyes and sneered, "You're cheating me? !"

"I didn't deceive you. You said it yourself. Since you admitted it, I won't say anything more, but..." Nancy's face darkened and she was angry. "Why did you go to Jason to ask for money? !"

May didn't expect Nancy to know so soon, rolling her eyes and refusing to admit it, "Did you see it yourself or did he tell you himself? ! I don't even know his phone number. How can I find him? !"

With her hands clasped around her chest, May spoke slowly, glancing at her mockingly sideways.

Clenching her fists, Nancy felt impulsive too, in this matter she was sure Jason wasn't lying to her, she and May had always been tense, and it was the same whether they were being provoked or not.

Frowning and raising her eyes, Nancy gave May a cold smile. "It doesn't matter if you don't admit it. I'll always find evidence."

"Whether you want to look or not, you'd better get some evidence, or I'll scratch you to death." May threw the apple into the trash.

Giving her a silent glance, Nancy smiled and shook her head as she opened the door and went out, with her back to the house, she told May, "Jason said I'm not worth five million and he won't give it."

A faint exclamation of "ah" came from behind, and Nancy strode out without looking back...

Passing the corner, Nancy picked a shop with a relatively good view and went in to order a cup of milk tea. Sitting by the window in the corner, looking diagonally ahead was the neighborhood where she lived, and she could clearly see the people coming out of the door.

About ten minutes later, May's hurried figure appeared at the door. Nancy smiled slightly and went out with her milk tea.

May hailed a taxi, and Nancy followed. After walking around the east and west of the city, Nancy saw May stand by the roadside looking blank as she got off.

They went to the bus stop one after another, one in front of the sign and the other behind it.

May was on the phone, her voice agitated and angry. "I think it's not that you don't have time at all, but you're deliberately playing with me. If you really don't have time, you'll say it right away. Why do you need to deceive me into going around the world?"

The person on the other end of the line probably said "Yes", and May was even more agitated. "Do you know how much I spent on this trip? ! And that money, you clearly said that as long as I found out where she works now, I would make any demands. What, do you want to refuse? !"

A buzzing sound came to Nancy's ears, and she recalled the sneaky figure at the hospital entrance. It seemed that when Carl came to bring her lunch that day, May had been following behind him all the way.

Turning off the recording, Nancy bypassed the bus stop sign, snatched her phone from behind and stuck it to her ear, "Jason, you're a little person..."
