Chapter 4 Cheating Is off the Table

Simon placed her on the sofa and turned around to get some ointment and alcohol cotton. He wiped her wound clean before carefully applying the ointment.

In fact, her instep had stopped bleeding on her way here. With the ointment, she felt cool.

Silvia looked at the man in front of her. He lowered his head and focused on applying the ointment for her. His expression was calm and collected, as if he had done it for her a thousand times. Yet the fact was, Ladarius had never done such a thing over the years.

So, men could be considerate, as long as they cared about women.

After dealing with her wound, Simon looked up at Silvia, who was absent-minded. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." She shook her head and quickly put her foot down. "Thank you."

"You are my wife. You don't need to thank me. But there is one thing I hope you will remember."

He twisted the lid of the ointment and said slowly.

Silvia nodded. "Yes?"

"Your past doesn't concern me. However, now that we're married, you can't be involved with..."

"I will not!" Silvia interrupted him. She quickly said, "Don't worry. I will be faithful to you. And I hope that you will be the same."

Simon probably did not expect her to have the courage to demand him to do something. He raised his eyebrows.

"I know that our marriage is a deal. Although I don't know why you make such an offer, I do hope that both of us can hold on to the principles of marriage. If you find the love of your life one day, I can divorce, but cheating is off the table."

She had already been betrayed once, and she wasn't planning on going through it again.

Simon raised the corners of his lips. "What a coincidence. I want to say the same thing."

His smile made Silvia dazed for a moment.

She thought, what a piece of work.

Not only does he have a brilliant mind in business, but his looks are impeccable.

I took my chances and reached out to him, yet I married him. Maybe fate finally favors me after all these years!

At seven o'clock in the evening, Silvia sat in Simon's car, and they arrived at the venue together.

She was surprised that he came personally. After all, today's contest was nothing for Warin. Warin's makeup products usually participated in international competitions.

When the car arrived, it just so happened that Ladarius' car was parked at the entrance of the venue.

Ladarius was wearing a dark blue suit, and his hair was obviously styled. He looked handsome. After he got out of the car, he immediately turned around and blocked the door with one hand. He held Vivienne's hand and helped her get out of the car. He was so considerate.

Silvia sneered. She was laughing at herself. How could she be so stupid before?

"Shall we get off now?" holding one of her hands, Simon turned to ask.

Silvia shook her head.

If she held Simon's hand and got out of the car to walk in front of Ladarius and Vivienne now, it would definitely be explosive news and would definitely make the bitch couple panic, but it was not the result Silvia wanted. To put it more accurately, it was far from enough.

Silvia wanted to take back all the efforts she had put in all these years! All of it!

Although it wasn't a grand contest, it was very formal.

To ensure the fairness of the competition, the judges were industry experts selected from various provinces. Also, all perfumes were handed in by representatives of each team three hours before the contest.

In these three hours, the experts would score and rate fragrances based on their looks, pre-tone, post-tone, and so on.

In other words, the results had already come out, and they just hadn't been announced yet.

Silvia did not enter the venue. She and Simon stayed in the exclusive VIP room. Through the big display screen in the room, they could see the situation in the venue.

Ladarius and Vivienne's faces were full of smiles, and their smug expressions even made people feel that they had already been announced as the winner.

Silvia looked at them quietly. She thought, go ahead and grin. The time for you to grin like this is running out.

The lights in the venue became a little dim, indicating that the results were about to be announced. The guests who were socializing turned to look at the stage.

It was customary to start the announcement with the smallest prize. Obviously, Ladarius did not care about those small awards. He wasn't worried that V.L's name wasn't mentioned. He held Vivienne in one hand and looked confidently at the podium.

"The first, second, and third prizes of the contest today will be announced next." The host cleared his throat. "Before that, I want to address the fairness of today's contest. The size of companies is not our concern. Any company that meets the requirements can sign up for the contest. However, we need to remind everyone that in addition to the quality of the product itself, the personality of the perfumer is more important. All acts suspected of plagiarism will be strictly prevented and cracked down on!"

In the VIP room, Silvia clenched her wine glass, her rosy lips pursed into a line as she looked at Ladarius and Vivienne on the screen.

Apparently, they didn't realize what the host's words had to do with them. They even led the applause.

"That's right! Although V.L is not a big company, we have always been dedicated to originality and development. Nothing is more shameful than plagiarism. Even if the finished product is not satisfactory, we still won't do such a thing."

Ladarius said righteously.

Vivienne added, "He's right. Although I am only an intermediate perfumer, and I'm nothing compared to the seniors in the industry, I have always warned myself to be firm and diligent and make a brand worthy of national pride."

Applause broke out, and the reporters seized the opportunity to take pictures. The scene looked harmonious.

However, the host on the stage had a serious expression on his face. He said, "In other words, V.L guarantees the originality and reliability of your participating works?"

"Of course!" Ladarius said confidently.

After saying that, he felt that something was wrong.

He had participated in many fairs and competitions before, but no one had ever asked questions like these. What was more, the host asked him specifically.

But he became confident again. After all, Silvia made the perfumes for today's contest. The originality was guaranteed.

At the thought of this, he became complacent.

Silvia let out a light scoff.

How confident and righteous he was!

The host took a deep look at Ladarius, turned to look at the crowd, and said seriously, "Something exceptional happened today. Two different companies entered the same product, and even the title they chose was the same."

Although he did not directly name the companies, he had specially asked Ladarius before this. Anyone who wasn't stupid knew who he was referring to. But they didn't know which the other company was.

Ladarius' expression changed.

This was even more embarrassing than not getting a prize. In front of so many companies in the industry and the media, he was accused of plagiarism. Once tomorrow's news came out, V.L's reputation would be ruined.
