Chapter 2 Marry Me

One needed to be fully concentrated when dealing with such a person.

Silvia cut straight to the point, "I know your company is participating in this season's perfume contest tonight as well. I have a newly invented perfume, and I hope to join Warin's team."

"I have selected my company's entry," Simon said unhurriedly.

She was aware of that, of course. "But there can be more than one entry. I simply want to add one more perfume. I'm not trying to replace..."

"Why should I believe you?"

He interrupted her and asked directly.

Silvia quickly opened her bag and took out a stack of papers. "These are the data and formulas of First Love. I think they can show how sincere I am. As for the quality...

"Three years ago, Mr. Palmer, you made me an offer. I believe it showed your approval of my ability. In fact, I brought a sample today."

"A sample?"

His facial expression finally changed. He raised his eyebrows, seeming intrigued.

Silvia nodded and suddenly reached out her hand toward him.

A faint sweet fragrance wafted over when her hand was approaching. It was fragrant and not thick.

Simon quietly looked at the hand in front of him. It was fair and slender, and the knuckles were distinct.

The sweet taste lingered on the tip of his nose, moving his heartstrings.

"I am confident that First Love can at least make the top three. It will make things easier for Warin."

After she finished speaking, she naturally withdrew her hand. To her surprise, he grasped her hand.

He used proper strength while holding her wrist. She couldn't break free, but she didn't feel any discomfort or pain.

"Do you think Warin cares about that?"

"It's just a gesture. Mr. Palmer, if you don't think it is not enough, how about I waive the copyright for the perfume I make in the next two years and give it to Warin?"

She thought about it. She knew Simon would not agree at once. However, as long as she could talk to him, there would be room for negotiation.

For her, time was pressing. He was the most suitable partner for her.

"It is indeed not enough."

He released her hand. There was still a faint lingering fragrance at the end of his fingers.

Simon lowered his eyes to hide the light in his eyes. "Unless ... you're included as well."

"Me?" Silvia did not understand what he meant.

"Did you bring what I asked you to bring?" he suddenly asked.

"Well ... yes."

Although she didn't know what he was up to, she brought it anyway.

"Marry me, and I'll help you with your problem."

Silvia was stunned.

She thought, what? What did he say? Marry him? Me?

I get it now. City Hall is across the road. He met me here and told me to bring my ID card because he wanted to marry me! Seriously?

"If you don't want to, you can leave now."

He opened the car door and gestured for her to make a decision quickly.

"I didn't say that."

Afraid of being driven out of the car, she pressed the door handle and said anxiously.

"Then I'll take it as a yes."

Simon smiled and got up. He said, "Let's get the formalities done. I have a meeting at 10:30."

Silvia was speechless.

He was in a hurry!

She held the car door with her hands and stared at him in front of her. "May I know why?" she asked.

Why her? Why so sudden?

"It's a deal, isn't it? You need someone to help you take down V.L, and I need a wife. Sounds fair to me."

His tone was relaxed and extremely natural, but the teasing in his eyes made Silvia feel somehow familiar. However, she could not remember.

She thought, I will cut all ties with Ladarius, that scumbag. With Simon's status and position, no matter what he is after, I won't be at a disadvantage.

"Deal!" Silvia said firmly.

What she wanted was nothing but retribution.

The formalities were simple, and the two had all the credentials needed. Things got done soon.

After leaving City Hall, Simon carefully put away the two certificates and put on his sunglasses to hide the smile in his eyes. Silvia ran a few steps to catch up with him, panting. "Mr. Palmer, about the cooperation..."

Simon suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned around.

Even though he was wearing sunglasses, she could still feel that his eyes went cold suddenly. Her hand that was grabbing his clothes subconsciously loosened.

"From today on, you should get used to your new identity, Mrs. Palmer."

He held her waist, and his breath was close.

Silvia was stunned for a moment.

"Give the information and samples of the perfume to Freddie. He will take care of it." Freddie Donne was his assistant.

He let go of his hand and sat back in the car. Silvia followed him but did not get in the car.

"Mrs. Palmer, do you have any other questions?"

He turned to look at her. His phone was buzzing. Someone was calling him.

"Well... Can we keep our marriage a secret for now?" She blushed. She was afraid of delaying him, so she quickly said, "I still have some things to attend to, but I will handle them quickly."

Through the sunglasses, she couldn't see Simon's eyes, and she couldn't tell his emotions from his expression.

"Wait for me in Warin before five in the afternoon."

Then he answered the phone and pressed his phone to his ear. "It's me."

Silvia nodded and closed the door for him. She watched the car leave and was still tensed up. She had a tough fight ahead of her.

She grabbed a bite to eat and bought a new outfit before taking her time to drive to V.L. During this period, Ladarius called her dozens of times, but she did not pick up.

Just as her car stopped, Ladarius' secretary, Jackson Longman, came forward with an anxious look on his face. "Ms. Austin, finally. Mr. Flores is so worried."

Why should he be? She had worked hard at V.L for three years, but she was just a technician here.

"What's wrong?" Silvia asked as she walked steadily into the company.

"I don't know. I just know that he's anxious." Jackson shook his head.

Other than Ladarius, Vivienne, and Silvia's closest assistant, no one in the company knew that Silvia invented the perfumes that were top-sellers of V.L.

Everyone thought that Vivienne was the major contributor, the mainstay of V.L.

Silvia never cared about fame, and now she couldn't care less.

Just as she reached the door of the CEO's office, she heard Ladarius roar, "You're with her every day, and now you're telling me that you don't know where she is? Watch your attitude! Winnie Murray, so what if Silvia got your back? Believe it or not, I'll fire you tomorrow!"

Then came the huge sound of the phone being hung up. Silvia furrowed her brows.

Ladarius could not find her, so he vented his anger on her assistant, Winnie.

She reached out, knocked on the door, pushed it open, and entered. Jackson tactfully did not enter and closed the door from the outside.

"Crack!" A glass smashed right in front of her feet, and the shattered pieces even brushed past her insteps. "Where have you been all morning?" Ladarius raged.
