"I wonder if I can marry him."
"What?"
The assistant got stunned.
It was obvious that Blake didn't expect the woman who suddenly stopped him to be so bold, so he couldn't help but look at her more times with his indifferent eyes.
A strange gleam flashed across his indifferent eyes when he saw that Rory was in a wedding dress, and he seemed a little surprised.
Rory got a little nervous when Blake looked at her.
She wasn't too sure that Blake would say yes, although she asked calmly.
Blake Woods was a man of great family and power after all, so there were plenty of women who would like to marry him, and there must be some who were better than she was. Therefore, she could only ask him the question in the hope of a chance.
There seemed to be a brief stagnation in the air, and Blake unexpectedly asked after a while, "Where's your fiancé?"
He had a low and magnetic voice that sounded attractive.
"He has had an affair with another woman. I just heard that Mr. Woods was looking for someone to get married to. Maybe you can marry me if you don't have a good candidate. Don't worry. I can cook and do laundry. I'm sensible and considerate, so I'll be a good wife. Moreover, I'll stay away from other men and be faithful to marriage. Last but not least, I'll take good care of my husband and keep my duty as a wife," answered Rory.
Rory blinked and smiled. She answered what Blake asked with great ease, undaunted by his coldness.
The assistant next to Blake finally came back to his senses and thought it inconceivable.
"I'm sorry, Miss. Mr. Woods..."
The assistant was about to reject Rory, but Blake waved his hand to stop him from continuing.
The assistant got startled. Before he could react, he saw Blake narrowing his eyes and staring at Rory for a long time with deep eyes and nodding finally, "OK, I'll marry you."
"Huh? He has agreed?" Rory couldn't believe it.
"He didn't even ask me anything, and he agreed... That was too easy, wasn't it?" She thought to herself.
Not only Rory but also the assistant next to Blake was shocked.
"Mr. Woods... there's something wrong with it, right? We don't know anything about the young lady. Maybe we should investigate her before you make a decision."
The assistant reacted quickly and immediately tried to persuade Blake to think again.
"There are so many vain women now. More importantly, the woman called him Mr. Woods as soon as she saw him. Therefore, it was obvious that she knew his identity. No one can be sure that she will be not up to no good," the assistant thought to himself.
"There's no need." Blake said indifferently but fixed his eyes on Rory, "You won't go back on your word if you marry me. Have you made up your mind?"
"Yes, I have. I won't back out."
Rory nodded seriously, and it was obvious that she had made up her mind.
"Have you brought your passport?" asked Blake bluntly, showing his vigorous and resolute nature.
"No, I haven't," Rory was taken aback and shook her head.
Blake raised his hand to look at his watch. "Fetch it now. I'll see you in court in an hour. OK?"
"No problem," Rory answered without hesitation.
"OK. Drive her back, Tyler," Blake ordered to the assistant behind him.
Tyler didn't know what to say.
...
Rory and Blake completed the registration as quickly as possible about an hour later.
After coming out of the court, Rory held a marriage license and felt like she was in a dream.
She would be a married woman from now on. She had no regrets at all, although she didn't marry Cole as she had expected.
"Are you free now, Mr. Woods? Can I talk with you?" Rory suddenly stopped Blake who was walking ahead.
"OK," Blake frowned but didn't refuse.
The two walked into a café nearby, and Rory sat opposite Blake.
As soon as they sat down, Blake asked bluntly, "What do you want to talk about?"
"It may be presumptuous, but I want you to promise me something, Mr. Woods," answered Rory.
It could be told from her tone that she had little confidence.
After all, they just got married and got a marriage license. It was inappropriate of her to ask him to accede to her requirements now.
"Go ahead," Blake frowned imperceptibly but didn't look much angry.
Rory couldn't help heaving a sigh of relief and then plucked up her courage to say, "Can we not make our marriage relationship public for the time being, if possible? I have a lot of private matters that I haven't dealt with, so I don't want them to affect you. Of course, you can also do whatever you want, and I won't interfere too much."
Blake seemed neither happy nor angry after listening to what Rory said, but an elusive light flashed across his eyes.
After pondering for a while, Blake finally said, "I can promise you, but I also have some requirements."
"Go ahead," nodded Rory.
"You're gonna move in with me, which is the basis for staying married. Besides, I have my own concerns. Therefore, I'll disclose my relationship with you if necessary. You cannot object," said Blake.
"I agree," replied Rory.
Since Blake agreed to her requirement, she had no reason to refuse.
After they finished talking, Rory didn't stay long and left first.
As soon as she left, Tyler came in, looked at Blake, and couldn't help but ask, "Are you sure there is no need to look into her, Alpha?"
"Normally, Blake would have asked me to look into the woman, and he wouldn't have kept stopping me like this. It's strange!" Tyler thought to himself.
"Of course she will be looked into. I wonder why she wanted to marry a stranger," replied Blake.
He pressed his lips and wore a thoughtful look in his eyes. Rory was his mate, but she almost married someone else. Fortunately, she met him. Otherwise, his fated mate would marry someone else.
Blake didn't expect that his mate would turn out to be humankind. However, when seeing her asking to marry him in a wedding dress, he accepted it without hesitation.
Anyway, he needed to marry Rory first. Very few people knew that werewolves existed, especially in the city. Rory had just asked to keep their marriage a secret, which he agreed with. Otherwise, she would be in danger. He had so many enemies who were werewolves after all.
While Blake was thinking about it, Tyler, who was his Beta, cut him off.
"OK, I'll do it as soon as possible. But, Alpha..." replied Tyler.
"What?" asked Blake.
"I have a question. Did you know Ms. Lane before?" asked Tyler.
"Otherwise, why did he agree to marry the woman without asking anything? He wouldn't normally do that," Tyler thought to himself.
Blake didn't answer what Tyler asked. He just looked in the direction where Rory disappeared and smiled meaningfully,
"You should call her Luna from now on."
