Nancy grinned at him, put away her phone, and wondered if he had spoken too much, but when she was pulled out of bed by a call at night and rushed back to the hospital, she realized how terrifying it was.
A dozen or so military vehicles occupied a whole row in the hospital parking lot, and Eric's low growl was especially clear in the dead of night, "I see who dares to touch me!"
Nancy, who had just reached the entrance of the inpatient department, shrank her neck. "Why are you so angry? Don't the other patients in the inpatient department need to rest, right?" !"
Muttering as she went upstairs, Nancy happened to run into Eric lying on the floor at the elevator entrance.
He struggled to raise his hand to press the elevator, and she glared at him in astonishment.
Eric's eyes were red like an angry leopard, "Get out of the way!"
"I won't let!" Nancy turned her face away from him, quickly pressed the first floor button and jumped out of the elevator.
Seeing that the elevator door was about to close, Eric reached out to stop him, but Nancy quickly pulled his hand back and hugged him tightly. "Are you crazy? Look at what you are like now. What if the wound on your body breaks open and gets infected by the dust on the ground?" !"
"I'm going back," Eric glared at her angrily, gritting his teeth. "I know my own injury myself, it makes no difference whether it's treated or not."
"It's all the same, isn't it?" Nancy let go of him and straightened up and took a step back as she watched the numbers at the elevator entrance jump down layer by layer. "If you can stand up and walk back to the ward from here or go downstairs, I'll believe you."
Eric knew she was pushing him, but he couldn't hold back his anger and propped himself up on the ground with both hands.
His legs were powerless, and his wounds began to bleed, but he ignored them and kept getting up and falling down again and again.
Nancy didn't pull and just watched. "Can't stand up? ! If you can't get up, go back to the ward. Don't embarrass yourself here! '
'You woman!' Eric growled in a low voice, as deep as a bell ringing.
Nancy crouched down and patted his head, her eyes as gentle as a puppy. "Stop it, it's the middle of the night. If you don't rest, the others will. Come back to the ward with me obediently first, and then tell me what happened, okay? !"
To be honest, watching him rise and fall again and again, the dull thuds, like drumsticks hitting her heart one after another.
In the muffled sound was a tearing sensation that grew more and more painful each time.
Eric propped himself up with his hands on the ground, in a push-up position, and a sharp gaze ran through her nerves, but Nancy still looked at him gently. "You were clearly calm when I left this afternoon. What made you so angry? !"
Eric's soft and mellow voice was as sweet and soft as honey lotus root. His brows were knitted tightly, and his eagle-like eyes slightly narrowed.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment. Eric and Nancy, one stern and the other gentle, looked at each other, while the two rows of soldiers beside them, including Ben, opened their mouths wide in surprise and forgot to close.
The colonel, who was as angry as a leopard, had fallen for this...
Bump and kill, isn't that too... That's something...
"Ben," Nancy waved up, "come and help me. I can't handle him alone."
When there was a little more calmness in Eric's eyes, Nancy decided to help him, but she was too weak to pull him.
Ben waved his hand to the side, and immediately another man came out. They walked over, held hands and placed under Eric, transforming into a human stretcher bed, and brought him back to the hospital bed.
"It seems his wound needs to be retreated," Nancy frowned. "I remember there's an emergency operating room in the building, and we have to get him over there."
There was a lot of bleeding from his wound, some of which had bloomed before Nancy arrived, and she felt sad looking at the bloodstain from the elevator entrance to the ward door.
Ben understood and quickly moved the hospital bed, and the group carried Eric out of the operating room in a large crowd.
"Look at you," Nancy shook her head at Eric. "The clothes are stained with blood and can't be untied. I'll have to cut them open with scissors."
Nancy carefully cut through his hospital gown, cutting the outer layer of gauze as she turned back to Ben and said, "Could you please bring him a clean set of clothes and call two nurses on duty to help me? I have to deal with his wound again."
"All right, I'll be right back." Ben hurried out.
Eric's face was gloomy and his lips were pursed into a straight line.
Nancy glanced at him, her eyes still so sharp, and when combined with his handsome looks, they were somewhat indescribably charming.
But now is not the time to admire a handsome man, Nancy goes on with her work cautiously, but dares not lift the veil.
"Later, I have to clean your wounds first and then apply medicine. Some of your wounds seem to have bloomed and need to be sutured again. It will be very painful." " Nancy gave him a worried look, but Eric's face was as cold as iron.
Fortunately, Ben was quick-witted and brought the anesthesiologist over. After pushing Eric into a sterile operating room for some treatment, Nancy finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She noticed that he remained silent throughout the process of re-suturing, applying medicine and bandaging, but his face gradually turned pale.
After returning to the ward, Eric closed his eyes and ignored anyone. Nancy gave him a worried look, threw a glance at Ben and walked out.
Ben followed quickly.
The two walked to the end of the corridor, one in front of the other, and made sure no sound could be heard in Room 302 before Nancy whispered, "What happened tonight? Tell me the truth."
"Well, I dare not reveal anything about the colonel." Ben frowned, looking very conflicted.
"You don't say how I'll help him. You really hope he'll get better, right? Tonight's incident is enough once. If it happens a few more times, it might kill him!" Nancy, with a serious look, coaxed Ben.
"It is, it is..." Ben stammered and was clearly unsure if he could tell the doctor, but after a moment's thought, he made up his mind. "Forget it, I'll just say it. I'll accept it even if I'm punished to save the colonel!"
Ben sighed before continuing, "Someone died of serious injuries on this mission, and the news was kept from the colonel, but somehow he found out and was a bit angry, wanting to go back and continue the mission, to take revenge on those bastards."
Nancy knew that was the limit of what he could reveal, but she could imagine how angry Eric was at that time.
But he was just too unappreciative of himself.
Shaking her head, Nancy felt a sense of unease in her heart. "I don't want to ask what mission you are doing, but if you keep his situation a secret, you will only anger him. If you don't keep it a secret, he will still be angry, and there will probably be more trouble in the next few days."
