Darius placed Bella on the sofa, then he turned around to fetch an ointment and alcohol swab. He cleaned her wound and applied the medicine on it carefully.
In fact, the small wound had stopped bleeding on the way there. Now, when the ointment was applied, it felt cool on her skin.
The man in front of her lowered his head and focused on applying medicine for her.
Bella stared at him. He looked calm, as if it was an ordinary thing for him to do.
It was just such a small thing, but Luke had never done it for her in the past few years.
So, it was not because most men were careless, but because they didn't care.
After applying the ointment, Darius raised his head and saw that she was being absent-minded again.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing." She shook her head and quickly put down her feet. "Thank you."
"You are my mat... wife. You don't have to say that. But there is one thing I hope you will remember," he said slowly after screwing on the lid of the ointment.
"Go ahead," Bella nodded.
"I don't care what happened to you in the past. Since you mat... married me, you can't keep in touch with each other..."
"I won't!" Before he could finish his words, Bella quickly said, "Don't worry. At least during this marriage, I promise that I will be loyal. And I hope you will be the same."
Perhaps he didn't expect her to have the guts to make a request to him; Darius couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows.
"I know our marriage is just a mere deal. Although I don't know why, I hope we can still keep our principles in our marriage. If you found a lover one day, I can divorce you. But I have zero tolerance for marital infidelity."
She had already been betrayed once, and she would never allow herself to experience a second betrayal.
Darius smiled. "What a coincidence. I am thinking the same thing."
Looking at his smile, Bella became absent-minded for a moment.
He was really a masterpiece of God.
He was not only good at business, but also perfect in appearance and morals.
Originally, she just wanted to have a try to cooperate with him, but she did not expect to marry him. After being unfortunate for many years, she might be lucky this time.
At seven o'clock in the evening, Bella arrived at the competition site with Darius.
She didn't expect him to attend the competition in person. After all, it was just a small competition for D&W which always participated in international competitions.
When they arrived, they saw Luke's car parking at the entrance of the venue.
He was wearing a dark blue suit and looked handsome.
As soon as he got out of the car, he immediately turned around to block the door with one hand and took Vina out of the car with the other hand.
He looked very considerate and a real gentleman.
A mocking smile appeared on Bella’s face.
She was laughing at herself. How could she be so blind in the past?
"Are you getting out of the car now?" Darius asked as he held her hand.
Bella shook her head to clear her mind.
Sure, it would be a breaking news if she got out of the car and walked up to them while holding Darius's hand. Much more, it would rattle them both, but that was not what she wanted. Actually, that was not enough.
She wanted to take back all her efforts and feelings over the years, including her own interests!
Although that competition was not large-scale, it was very dainty in terms of the process.
In order to ensure a fair competition, the judges were experts selected from all over the country, and all the perfumes for the competition were handed over to them three hours before the competition.
In the next three hours, experts would grade the perfumes according to their appearance, top notes, middle notes, base notes and so on.
In other words, the result had come out, but it had not been announced yet.
Bella didn't enter the venue. She stayed in the exclusive VIP room with Darius.
Through the large screen in the room, she could see and hear everything.
Luke and Vina were riding high. It seemed that they had already won the prize.
Bella watched them quietly. She let them laugh as that would be the last time they’ll had fun.
The light at the venue was a little dim, indicating that the result was about to be revealed. The guests who were still socializing turned to look at the stage.
As usual, they would start with the smallest awards. Obviously, Luke didn't care about those small awards.
Even if they didn't read out the name of V.L, Luke was not in a hurry. He held Vina with one hand and looked at the podium confidently.
"The next one to be announced is the first, second, and third prize." The host cleared his throat. "Before we announce this award, I want to emphasize it. This competition is fair and open. We don't restrict the size of the company. As long as you meet the requirements, you can sign up for the competition. But we also want to warn you that in addition to the quality of the product itself, the moral quality of perfumers is more important. We strictly prevent and crack down all suspected plagiarism!"
Inside the VIP room, Bella clenched her glass and pursed her lips while she stared at Luke and Vina on the screen.
Obviously, they didn't realize that what the host said had anything to do with them. They even took the lead to applaud and support him.
"That's right! Although the scale of our company is not big, we have always been dedicated to creation and research. Plagiarism is really shameful in the industry. Even if the finished products are not satisfactory, we disdain such behavior," Luke said seriously.
Vina added, "Yes. Although I'm only an intermediate perfumer and can't compete with the masters in the industry, I've always told myself to be hardworking and make a proud brand."
However, the host on the stage looked serious. He changed the topic and said, "That is to say, your V.L will absolutely guarantee the originality and reliability of your work?"
"Of course!" Luke said confidently.
After saying that, he felt that something was wrong.
He had attended many shows and competitions before, but they had never asked him such a question like this time.
The perfume for the competition was made by Bella herself. He was confident that it was original.
Thinking of that, he became arrogant.
Bella snorted as she heard him replied justly and forcefully.
The host stared at him, turned to the crowd, and said seriously, "There is a special situation in this competition.”
The host looked intently around and continued, “Two different companies have chosen the same product for the competition, and even the names of their works are the same. “Although he didn't mention the name of the one he was talking about directly, since he had specially asked Luke before, every discerning man knew who he was talking about. As for who the other one was, they didn't know.
Luke's face changed dramatically.
That made him even more embarrassed than not winning a prize.
He was suspected of plagiarism in front of many companies and media in the industry.
As soon as the news was exposed tomorrow, the reputation of V.L would be ruined.
"For the sake of fairness, we decide to suspend the award of the top three. They will be announced after it is further investigation."
As soon as the host announced that, everyone else was in an uproar, let alone Luke.
"Why? It's not fair to everyone!"
"Yes, since it is controversial, you can cancel the qualification of the two companies!"
"Disclose the two companies."
Luke was sure that there would be no problem with his company.
He stepped forward confidently and raised his voice, "It is right. Since such a situation has emerged, the organizing committee should announce the result here. I believe that the people in charge of the two companies are present, and so many peers can witness it. Isn't it more convincing?"
Compared to the lively scene on the screen, Darius focused his attention on the woman in front of him.
He held the glass in his hand, but didn't take a sip. He showed a cold smile all the time.
After so many years, she finally belonged to him. He had waited for three years. How could a contemptible scoundrel like Luke deserve Bella!
Looking at Bella, he remembered the girl who gave him the medicine ten years ago.
She was still the same. There was a beautiful light in her clear blue eyes, and she was his mate.
Darius had been looking for her since she saved him.
However, three years ago, when he finally saw her in the perfume competition, he wanted to recognize her, but found out that she was a human. They were in different worlds, and she had a boyfriend by her side.
Therefore, he didn't tell her and she didn’t become his mate, but he left his contact information.
In that way, even if she was in trouble, she could find him and ask him for help.
This time, he would not let her leave again.
However, there was still a punishment.
She should be punished to his Luna for the rest of her life.
Because that woman didn't recognize him at the first time.
She changed. Her smell became different. At that time, he could still detect the scent of werewolf and a little strange smell from her, but now, there was no smell from her. Only human scent was left in her.
Moreover, several years had passed, and she had become timid and cautious, speaking much softly.
However, at that moment, she just stood there. The confidence and coldness in her eyes proved that she had not changed at all.
She was still the unknown but proud girl.
"It’s my turn."
