Chapter 4

"I completely understand!" She spoke, " so I'm guessing you don't wish to be chosen by the alpha King?" She questioned.

"I don't want to be chosen by king, I do not wish to be chosen by anyone." I snorted out, I could see Ara listening to my answer, and soon the voice of my mother came into my head and I quickly added, " no disrespect to any male or alpha, I just don't want a chosen.." I tried to sound less disrespectful to the males if another she wolf over heard me.

"Yes I have to agree, most she-wolves do not wish or are not ready to be chosen, I could see why you think that. I also think that the mating ceremony is more of a chance to show off for the males than it is to pick a chosen." She said as she looked up, leaning back against the seat.

We stayed quiet for a few minutes before there was another out burst around the bus, turning to look back I could see a cowering small female, and the angry she-wolf from before yelling at her. Ara looked back shocked, as did I, until she was about to hit the smaller female.

"Stop!" Standing up I ran pass the seats and stood in front of the female. Protecting her from the hit, a loud smack rang through the bus as my head turned slightly to the side my hair whooshing down to cover my face after the blow. The slap stung but didn't hurt, the bus was quiet, the angry she wolf stood proud as she glared at me.

"Who do you think-

"No." I spoke out, lifting my head up, and turning to face her I continued, "who do you think you are? Yes okay you have the chance to be chosen and crowned queen but if you were what queen Would attack a smaller person than you, what gave you the right to decide that for her." My voice was calm, everyone around stood quietly as the bus continues to drive.

"She disrespected me."

"How did she disrespect you?" I questioned her farther.

"She said that she had just as much of a chance as I did at the king." She spoke out crossing her arms in front of her chest, I could see out of the corner of my eye that Ara was watching me.

"She is right."

"How dare you! I will be-

"No, like I said I understand you have a chance at being chosen but so do the rest of the girls here and at the ceremony. Leave her be." And with that I turned to the girl on the floor and offered her my hand. Helping her up I began to walk back to my seat and and sat with my arms crossed.

"You were so badass!" Ara squealed out at me, I turned to her shocked.

"All I did was stop a unneeded fight."

"Yeah but you put that bitch in her place!" Ara laughed out, I could feel the daggers that the other she wolf was shooting at the back of my head as Ara continued to laugh, " I was totally going to go back there till you sprinted down and took that sissy of a hit!" She laughed once again.

I sent a small smile to Ara, and soon she stopped laughing. "So what pack are you from?"

"I'm from a smaller pack, we have about a hundred in it, it's called the Risen Moon pack." I spoke out with a smile on my face thinking of home, I looked at Ara and asked the Same question.

"I'm from the Golden Crescent pack. It was a smaller pack as well" she smile, "they have the best bakeries there!" Smiled at her and she smiled back, but then it went away " but I mean the chances are I will be chosen and I have come to accept that, and the fact that I might not be going back to my old pack but to a new one." She lightly smiled at me.

"Yeah I guess your right, you have to think realistically." And heaven knows I haven't been, most females are chosen but I'm still hoping to be in the small percentage that isn't.

"Welcome to the choosing ceremony!" A male voice boomed over the entry way, it was a wide space room accommodating all of us off the buss that just arrived, I tried to peek through the crowd to see what the man looked like, I could only catch a glimpse. He was an older man bits of grey were showing through his fading chocolate locks, he had a short stature for a male wolf, but I could feel the dominance radiating off him.

"That's elder Gracie. He's in charge of the ceremonies, and anything to do with males and their chosen." I heard Ara whisper into my ear, I turn to her and then she hooded to the front, looking up I could see his head over the crowd he was tall, and dark chocolate hair adorned his head. The silence that fill the room at his arrival was deafening, it was caused by the heavy feeling of power coming from him. He was the king.

All of the females had the head bowed as he stepped forwards, flash backs hit me from when I was a child, and the green eyes I could never forget. They were dark green like the kind you would find in a spruce tree, they were mesmerizing. My senses kicked forward as his voice spoke out causing me to show the up most respect and submission. I hated that feeling, the feeling of being controlled.
